World Cup Play-off: NWF Declares Support For Super Eagles, Lauds NFF On Preparations

The President and board of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, NWF has declared their support for the Super Eagles quest to pick one of the five tickets to represent Africa at this year’s World Cup in Qatar.
The NWF President, Dr. Abdul Ibrahim in a press statement on Monday through his NWF Media Ameachi Agbo lauded the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF for their prompt and proactive actions taken so far in preparation for the matches.
Dr. Abdul who was elated with the goalless draw in the first leg on Friday expressed optimism that the Super Eagles, with the support of 215 million Nigerians, will deliver the ticket on Tuesday.
“You know in sports we all aspire to qualify for tournaments, compete and win medals.
“The Super Eagles are on the verge of reaching their 7th World Cup participation and we are solidly behind them in this quest
“We commend the NFF on how they have prepared the team and efforts made to ensure that the Moshood Abiola National Stadium is filled to capacity on Tuesday.
“We have no doubt in our minds that after their great record in Ghana on Friday, they will finish the job here in Abuja.
“Do not forget that the team is returning to Abuja, their home ground after 10 years. We will give them maximum support to pick this all-important ticket,” he said.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on the Black Stars of Ghana in the second leg play-off of the 2022 World Cup qualifier on Tuesday at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
The winner of the match will pick one of the five available tickets to represent Africa at the quadrennial global football showpiece in Qatar later this year.

NVBF seeks continuous partnership with Abia Govt after successful 2025 Nat Div 1 & 2

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) have expressed profound appreciation to the Government and people of Abia State for their outstanding support and collaboration during the successful hosting of the final phase of the 2025 National Division 1 and 2 Volleyball Leagues.
In a statement signed by Engineer Musa Nimrod, NVBF President, the federation commended Abia State for its warm hospitality and commitment to the development of sports, particularly volleyball.
Nimrod explained that the successful event was a result of the strong partnership between the federation and the state government.
He said, “The Board of Administration of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, on behalf of the entire volleyball community in the country, wishes to express profound gratitude to the Government and people of Abia State for their noble collaboration in organizing the final phase of Division 1 and 2.”
He further highlighted that Abia State is gradually becoming a hub for volleyball in Nigeria.
Nimrod attributed the growth of volleyball to the government’s investment in youth and sports development.
He emphasised the NVBF desire to sustain and strengthen this partnership to further promote volleyball and empower young athletes across the nation.
“The federation remains grateful and looks forward to a more robust and progressive partnership with the Abia State Government in the future.”
