Enaluna foundation empowers 500 students with scholarships in Edo state

Not fewer than five hundred students in Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State have benefited for the third editions of the Enaluna foundation Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) to marked this year programmes at Uromi.

The first NGO in Uromi which center on humanity also distributed food items, disinfect materials to indigent peoples in the eleven wards of the North East Local Government Area to cushion the ongoing pandemic of Cov-19.

 

Disclosing this to journalists at Uromi in Edo state recently during the presentation of scholarships to students and distribution of palliatives to indigent peoples, founder, Endurance Enaluna Ochtemhen, said that government cannot cushion the effect lock-down and stay at home alone but collecting efforts of good people of Edo state in supporting government activities towards the pandemic.

The ebullient and Philanthropist who doubles as chairman of Enaluna Oil and Gas divulged that the foundation had for the past three years supported over 500 youths with scholarships across the elevens wards of Esan North East Local Government Area.

 

“I sincerely thank God Almighty for giving me the strength to do what I love most for my peoples, let’s me tell you, I will never relent for doing what you just saw me doing for my people, I am doing the third editions, the fourth edition will be better than this by his grace, I will keep on doing it for my people, that’s my target because God keep me alive for my indigent people to be happy.

 

“As you can see my people are happy because it becomes imperative in complementing government effort especially reaching out to your people at home at this point of need in regard to the Covid-l9, “Enaluna enthused.

 

The Philanthropist noted that he’s in fulfillment of his wish to give and support the peoples of Uromi by distributing various food items, facemasks, hand sanitizers and other palliative measures to the vulnerable and less-privileged members across the communities.

One of the beneficiaries Madam Mary Okosun who spoke on behalf of others said, we are very excited over the surprised package of our son, “we are praying for him, God will protect him and grand his heart desires, we want our sons and daughters both home and diaspora to emulate Endurance Enaluna Ochiemhen in supporting us and our children.

 

Our reporter scooped that the palliatives and scholarships were sharer among the eleven wards in Esan North Local Government Area, Edo State.

NSC DG Olopade Meets NSC Directors, Calls for Scientific Approach to Sports Federation Activities

The Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, has reiterated the new transformative vision of the Commission during his meeting with the Directors and Heads of Departments of the Commission.


The interactive sessions allowed senior officials to introduce themselves to the new DG, who emphasized the importance of strategic, standardized and scientific approach to the Commission’s operations, including the conduct of Sports Federation Elections.


In his remarks, Olopade stressed the need for reforms that would attract top administrators to vie for leadership roles within Nigeria’s Sports Federations.
“There is no way we can’t be looking at having top industry CEOs on board in our Sports Federations,” he stated.


The DG also highlighted the Commission’s mandate to elevate the Corporate image of various Sports in Nigeria. 


He reemphasized the NSC’s commitment to reviving key initiatives such as the National Sports Industry Policy and the 10-Year Football Master Plan.


“The Chairman and myself strongly believe we need to have a different approach to our Federation Elections,” he noted. 


“This is why the emphasis of the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a balanced approach to both sports consumption and sports production.”


The meeting reflects the new direction of the NSC, with Olopade pledging to champion and support policies that will foster professionalism and sustainable development across Nigeria’s sports landscape.
