All Athletes of 12th African Games Fully paid- Permanent Secretary
The Federal Ministry of youth and Sports has authoritatively confirmed that the Ministry is not owing athletes of the Team Nigeria at the on-going African Games 2019-Rabat, Morocco  outstanding allowances on the Games.
The Permanent  Secretary of the Ministry,  Mr Olusade Adesola confirmed this in a chat with Management on his arrival at Rabat on Monday.
He also highly commended both the individual and team spirit of competition of all athletes of Team Nigeria, the Secretary Generals, Coaches and officials who are all making it possible for Nigeria in achieving podium performances in the recent hauls of clean medals.
Once again  the Ministry, he said will ensure her total support to see Team Nigeria through to first position in this game.
He noted that the Ministry also revived the practice of bringing former Olympians to motivate the athletes by inviting Falilat Ogunkoya, MON and Mr Olumide Oyedeji of the Athletes Commission.

On the eve of the closing ceremony alone, Ghana clinched eight gold medals, winning the ultimate prize in women’s hockey, 200m men’s athletics event, high jump, men’s football event, and four boxing gold medals in boxing. All in one night.

Ghana also made history by becoming the first country to win god in both men’s and women’s football events at the Games.

The closing ceremony of the Games saw star performances from star acts such as Stonebwoy, Stanley Enow, Wiyaala, Innoss’B, amongst others.

As Ghana continues its upward trajectory in the realm of sports, the nation stands poised to achieve even greater milestones under the visionary leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Sports minister, Mustapha Ussif.
