Amokachi, Okocha, Kanu, Others Storm Lagos For Adopt Campaign of the Ministry of Youth and Sports

1996 Olympic gold medallists, Daniel Amokachi, Kanu Nwankwo, Austin Okocha and Taribo West and others notable Nigerians will be part of the Adopt Campaign of Ministry of Youth and Sports Development which takes on Monday 16th December, 2019 at the Civic Center Lagos.

The work experience programme is another initiative of the ministry which was launched in Abuja on the Africa Youth Day .

In an attempt to raise fund for the Olympians who are set to represent their fatherland in Tokyo, the ministry will use the platform to prepare them for early camping that will help them have podium performances.

Nigerian sprinters, Divine Oburududu, Ese Brume and hosts of others would also be in attendance where the cocktail dinner will take place in Lagos next Monday.

This is going to be a moment of reunion among sports stakeholders around the country.

Also, ex-international like Segun Odegbami, and notable politicians like Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Chairman House Committee on Sports, Olumide Osoba and many other notable Nigeria are not left out of the gathering.

On the eve of the closing ceremony alone, Ghana clinched eight gold medals, winning the ultimate prize in women’s hockey, 200m men’s athletics event, high jump, men’s football event, and four boxing gold medals in boxing. All in one night.

Ghana also made history by becoming the first country to win god in both men’s and women’s football events at the Games.

The closing ceremony of the Games saw star performances from star acts such as Stonebwoy, Stanley Enow, Wiyaala, Innoss’B, amongst others.

As Ghana continues its upward trajectory in the realm of sports, the nation stands poised to achieve even greater milestones under the visionary leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Sports minister, Mustapha Ussif.
