Arabinrin Aderonke Clinches 2024 FIRS Chairman’s Award for Excellence in Public Image Management

The Head of the Broadcast Media Unit and Technical Assistant (Broadcast Media) at the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Arabinrin Aderonke ANIPR, has been honoured with the prestigious 2024 FIRS Chairman’s Award — the highest individual recognition within the Service, given out of over 13,000 staff.

Arabinrin Aderonke Atoyebi, Technical Assistant on Broadcast Media to the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), has been recognised with an award of outstanding performance for her role in shaping and enhancing the public image of the organisation.

The award was presented to her by the Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji, who was represented by Muhammad Lawal Abubakar, the coordinating director, support service group, during a ceremony held at the FIRS headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, 14 August at the Los Angeles Event Center.

Speaking after receiving the award, Adedeji commended Atoyebi’s dedication and professionalism, noting that her work had contributed significantly to the service’s communication strategy and public engagement. 

“Media representation is a critical aspect of public service, and Atoyebi has exemplified excellence in ensuring FIRS’s activities are clearly understood by stakeholders,” he said.

Reacting to the recognition, Atoyebi expressed gratitude to the FIRS leadership for the honour, describing it as a pivotal moment in her career.

Yesterday, I was incredibly honored to receive the 2024 Chairman Award. The biggest Award in FIRS out of over 13000 staffers. I was emotional. I was grateful. I was thankful and proud.

I never saw it coming. It was a huge surprised. This moment marks a significant milestone in my journey, and I’m truly humbled by the recognition. It’s a testament to the smartwork, teamwork, dedication, and passion that has gone into everything leading up to this point. I’m beyond grateful to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and believed in me along the way.

This award isn’t just a celebration of past efforts—it’s motivation for what’s next. I’m excited to keep pushing forward, taking on new challenges, and striving to make an even greater impact.

AUDA-NEPAD CEO Highlights Collaboration as Catalyst for Africa’s Economic Competitiveness

The Chief Executive Officer and National Coordinator of AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria, Hon. Jabiru Salisu Abdullahi, has called for stronger public-private partnerships to boost Africa’s global competitiveness.

Speaking at the High-Level Business Forum 2025 organised by the NEPAD Business Group Nigeria in Lagos, Hon. Abdullahi said Africa’s transformation will be driven by enterprise, not aid.

He urged governments to create enabling environments that foster innovation, industrial growth, and sustainable development.

He reaffirmed AUDA-NEPAD Nigeria’s commitment to working with private sector actors and development partners to deliver key initiatives in agriculture, ICT, manufacturing, and renewable energy under the AU Agenda 2063 framework.

The event brought together top business and policy leaders, including representatives from the African Business Roundtable, the Bank of Industry, the Africa Finance Corporation, and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, among others.
