Fame Foundation Lauds Amnesty International For Using Sports To Project Human Rights

The Executive Director of Fame foundation Aderonke Bello has applauded the Amnesty International for using sports as a tool to create more awareness about human right in the country.
The first ever sports tournament put in place by the Amnesty International to champion the course of human rights in the country and beyond.
Speaking at the final day of the three day Amnesty International football and Basketball tournaments in the Nigeria’s Capital Territory, where Government Secondary School Tundu-Wada Zone 4 defeated their counterpart from GSS Mabushi 2-0 to win the tournament.
According to Mr Aderonke, I want to Aplauds the Amnesty international for using sports to promote human rights.
Sports is beneficial in the context of human rights, it take the integration from different social, cultural and economic background, as you can see everyone is here from different school and the only thing that brought us together is sports.
“Sports can also be used as a platform to promote social change, this can be employee through sport based initiative and I want to commend Amnesty International for this laudable project.
“As for us at the Fame foundation, we have been using this tool to effect change in our society, which is why at FAME we are using sports as a tool to promote girl child education, to end child marriage and inclusion of displace girls in sports.
“We have been using sports to enhance their mental and well-being through sporting activities and engagement.”
She however, charged all Nigerian to always do their part toward the advancement of human right saying: “together we can take action, together we can change the world through sports.” She expressed
Meanwhile GSS Tundu-Wada emerges winner of 2022 Amnesty Football Tourney defeated their counterpart from GSS Mabushi 2-0 to win the tournament courtesy of Basir Mohammed who scored the brace in the second half of encounter.
While, In the Basketball event, GSS Wuse Zone 3 outclass the GSS Maitama 11-6 to emerged the winner.

NVBF President, Engr Nimrod Urges Families to Embrace Healthy Living at HOBA Novelty Sports

President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engineer Musa Nimrod, has called on Nigerian families to adopt healthy living habits through regular participation in sporting and fitness activities.
Nimrod made the call on Sunday during the third edition of the Hoba Development Association, Abuja Chapter, novelty sports event held at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
He noted that physical activities such as sports are vital to fostering family bonds, community interaction, and overall well-being.
“The rate of health-related incidents such as slumping is increasing, but regular exercise helps improve the health of both parents and children,” he said. “Events like this bring families together, allowing parents and children to interact and know each other better.”
Also speaking, the stand-in Chairman of the Hoba Community, Barrister Nathan Naandeti, highlighted the significance of the annual novelty games, describing them as a unifying platform for members of the community.
“It’s something we do every year to promote unity, togetherness, and fitness among our people. Sports is part of who we are,” he stated.
Men, women, and children from the Hoba community participated in various sporting activities, including volleyball, badminton, football, and aerobics—all aimed at encouraging relaxation, fitness, and bonding among families.
