Gov Monday Okpebholo Approves Establishment Of Edo State Lottery Regulatory Commission

The Edo State Government wishes to inform the general public that His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has approved the establishment of the Edo State Lottery Regulatory Commission.

In a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government Umar Musa Ikhilor states that, the Commission is conceived as the central regulatory body for all lottery, gaming, and related activities within the State. Its primary objectives are to: Provide a legal and institutional framework for regulating lottery and gaming operations in Edo State.

Ensure transparency, accountability, and integrity in the conduct of lottery activities. Safeguard the interests of participants and the general public by enforcing fair play and responsible gaming standards. Generate revenue for the State through well-structured licensing and regulation of gaming operators.

In furtherance of this, His Excellency has approved the appointment of the following individuals to pioneer the affairs of the Commission:  Rt. Hon. Frank Okiye – Chairman, Dandy Imoukhuede Oserei- Member,  Elvis Uadiale – Member, Ndidi Aghimien – Member and Hon. Habibat Yakubu – Secretary

The names of the above-nominated individuals will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for consideration and confirmation.

This initiative reflects the Government’s commitment to creating a well-regulated gaming industry that protects consumers, enhances investor confidence, and contributes to the socio-economic development of Edo State.

Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria Katsina Chapter Urges Party to Entrust Leadership to Credible Members Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Katsina State chapter of the Fix PDP, Fix Nigeria group has called on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to ensure that only credible and committed party members are entrusted with leadership positions as preparations begin for the 2027 general elections.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, Abubakar Muktar, the group stressed that the future and stability of the PDP depend on placing the right people at the helm of affairs, noting that internal democracy and accountability must remain the guiding principles of the party.

The group further referenced the contributions of respected leaders such as Dr. Bala Buhari, a former treasurer of the PDP and former minister from Kebbi State in the North West, who has consistently demonstrated loyalty, competence, and integrity in service to the party and the nation.

According to the Katsina chapter, the PDP can only reclaim its rightful position in Nigeria’s democracy by strengthening its internal structures and allowing credible leaders to steer the party towards victory in 2027.

The group reaffirmed its commitment to working with stakeholders across the country to ensure unity, transparency, and fairness in the affairs of the PDP.
