Just In: Ahmed Musa completes move to Turkish Super Lig Fatih Karagümrük FC

Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa has officially moved to Turkey where he will play for top-flight club Fatih Karagümrük after signing a one year contract.

The deal is believed to be a lucrative one for Musa who becomes the fifth player to arrive at the club in the summer transfer window, after Aleksandar Pesic, Kerim Frei, Samed Onur and Erhun Öztümer.

Karagümrük reportedly beat Galatasaray and Beşiktaş to the signature of the winger.

“We added the 28-year-old Nigerian offensive player to our squad. During his career, he played for clubs such as VVV Venlo, CSKA Moscow and Leicester City. He scored 15 goals in 87 matches for the Nigerian National Team,” the club commented at the unveiling of the ex JUTH FC star.

The 28-year-old player, who transferred from CSKA Moscow to Leicester City for 19.5 million Euros in 2016, signed with Al-Nassr in 2018 for 16.5 million Euros.

Musa, who can play on the wings and forward, has played 87 matches and scored 15 goals in the Nigerian National Team, where he has been playing since 2010.

Adeboye Commends Phillip Shaibu’s Appointment as Well-Merited

Senior special assistant on grassroots sports development to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka, has sent a graciously heartwarming congratulatory message to Comerade Phillip Shaibu on his recent appointment as the new Director General of the National Institute for sports (NIS), saying, Shaibu’s remarkable achievements in sports development and what he has done to transform sports in Edo state during his time as Deputy Governor, made him worthy and credible for such lofty appointment.

‘I want to formally congratulate my good friend and brother, Comerade Phillip Shaibu, on his recent appointment as the DG of NIS., without mincing words, he deserves this big appointment, because, his antecedents and genuine commitment to sports development have proven that he has the capacity and capability to head and take the NIS to greater heights, “he said.

“Shaibu, is a well known figure in the country’s sports industry and beyond i know he will bring his expertise to the fore in his new role in alignment with the Renewed Hope agenda of, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”, he added.

Philip Shaibu takes over with immediate effect from Prof. Olawale Moronkola, and he is expected to initiate reforms in the Institute to reposition it to live up to its expected heights.
