Karate Federation Is Ready For NSF, Alhaji Maikaino Assures

The Secretary-General of Karate Federation of Nigeria KFN Alhaji Adamu Maikano has revealed that the federation is 100% ready for the 2020 National Sports Festival billed for 4t to 18th December in Benin, Edo State.

He stated this in an interview with journalists on Tuesday in Abuja saying that the Federation’s desire is to put up a good show at the NSF while calling on its athletes to ensure they keep all the COVID-19 protocols before, during, and after the event.

According to him,  preparation is already on top gear, we are just waiting for the entry date for all the states I can assure you we are fully prepared.

“That is why the federation has put in place the full council meeting where the secretaries, chairmen, coaches from the states will converge for the meeting on the 4th of December.

talking of mercenaries put in place by the federation to ensure the safety of the player during the festival in Edo stated he commended MOC for their effort:  “I have to give kudos to MOC NSF for making COVID-19 protocols very compulsory and we have communicated with all the states, that each states coming with their athletes must prepare for the COVID-19 protocols.”

It will be recalled that the festival, which was earlier scheduled for March 22 to April 1, was postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19.

On the eve of the closing ceremony alone, Ghana clinched eight gold medals, winning the ultimate prize in women’s hockey, 200m men’s athletics event, high jump, men’s football event, and four boxing gold medals in boxing. All in one night.

Ghana also made history by becoming the first country to win god in both men’s and women’s football events at the Games.

The closing ceremony of the Games saw star performances from star acts such as Stonebwoy, Stanley Enow, Wiyaala, Innoss’B, amongst others.

As Ghana continues its upward trajectory in the realm of sports, the nation stands poised to achieve even greater milestones under the visionary leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Sports minister, Mustapha Ussif.
