NFVCB Gets 3 New Directors, Promotes 6 and Others

The National Film and Video Censors Board NFVCB who took  priority of the staff for productivity, efficency and improvement is march its words with action has promoted three Deputy Directors to Directors, six Assistant Directors to Deputy Directors, 5 Senior Officers to Assistant Directors and one hundred and forty three others across different cadres.

Also,  five staff were converted from one cadre to another, while two had their appointments confirmed according to civil service procedure.

In a release issued on Friday in Abuja by the Director of Administration, Chigozie E. Uwaezuokie   stated that, those promoted were on the list of successful candidates in the 2019 Promotion exercise conducted by the Senior Management Committee (SMC) and ratified by the Governing Council of the Board.

The management has also unbundled the existing departments to accommodate new directorates to be headed by the newly promoted directors. Ejike Joseph Ochogwu heads the Department of ICT, Research and Library Services; Deborah Malgwi, Planning & Media Literacy while Bola Athar, who has been acting in that role, becomes the substantive head of Department of Operations.

The new DDs are Agu Sunday M, Ononobi Peace, Odeh Hubert, Barr. Nzekwu Francis, Azi Chinedu, and Barr. Inwang Effiong Okon; while the newly promoted ADs are Ozoana Nnamdi Williams, Ogbefun Tabitha Otaniyen, Akunka Sokoulea Mercy, Barr. Nasir Hasina Dahiru and Nbona Aladi Julia.

However, the  Chairman of the SMC and the Executive Director NFVCB, Alhaji Adedayo Thomas, Thanked President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, and the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, for promptly approving and endorsing the promotion.

He therefore, urged the newly promoted senior officers, and the converted and confirmed staff to rededicate themselves to the service of their fatherland and sought their cooperation and support as they take on their challenging roles that call for new approaches and strategy.

On the eve of the closing ceremony alone, Ghana clinched eight gold medals, winning the ultimate prize in women’s hockey, 200m men’s athletics event, high jump, men’s football event, and four boxing gold medals in boxing. All in one night.

Ghana also made history by becoming the first country to win god in both men’s and women’s football events at the Games.

The closing ceremony of the Games saw star performances from star acts such as Stonebwoy, Stanley Enow, Wiyaala, Innoss’B, amongst others.

As Ghana continues its upward trajectory in the realm of sports, the nation stands poised to achieve even greater milestones under the visionary leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Sports minister, Mustapha Ussif.
