NYSC DG Approves 1,000 Mattresses For Nasarawa Camp

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, has approved the supply of one thousand new mattresses to Magaji Dan’Yamusa Permanent Orientation Camp, Keffi, Nasarawa State.

He made the pronouncement in Keffi during his unscheduled visit to the camp at the commencement of the 2019 Batch ‘B’ Orientation course.

The Director-General said the welfare of corps members remains his topmost priority and he will pursue that with vigorously.

True to his words, the mattresses he promised were delivered to the camp three days later amidst jubilation by corps members.

The excited corps members poured encomiums on the DG promising that they will do everything not to let him down.

On her part, the state Coordinator, Mrs. Ramatu Sanda applauded the DG for promptly fulfilling his promise. She assured the corps members that this is just the beginning of good things they will enjoy from the DG, and advised them to use the mattresses carefully having it at the back of their minds that their fellow compatriots coming behind them will need same.

The distribution of the new mattresses to corps members has already started.

On the eve of the closing ceremony alone, Ghana clinched eight gold medals, winning the ultimate prize in women’s hockey, 200m men’s athletics event, high jump, men’s football event, and four boxing gold medals in boxing. All in one night.

Ghana also made history by becoming the first country to win god in both men’s and women’s football events at the Games.

The closing ceremony of the Games saw star performances from star acts such as Stonebwoy, Stanley Enow, Wiyaala, Innoss’B, amongst others.

As Ghana continues its upward trajectory in the realm of sports, the nation stands poised to achieve even greater milestones under the visionary leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo and Sports minister, Mustapha Ussif.
