Senator Jide Ipinsagba Reels Out Achievements

The Senator Representing Ondo North Senatorial District at the 10th Senate, Senator Jide Ipinsagba has rolled out some impressive achievements as a Senator Representing the Zone in the Senate.
Senator Jide Ipinsagba’ impressive list of accomplishments in his first year in office is evidence of his dedication and tireless efforts to improve the lives of his constituents in the Ondo North Senatorial District and Omdo State at Large.
His numerous infrastructure projects, empowerment programs, and motions/bills demonstrate his commitment to the well-being and development of the good people of Ondo North.
According to Press Statement issued by the Senator Olajide Ipinsagba’s media team on Wednesday in Abuja providef clarity on the progress and initiatives undertaken during the Distinguished Senator Jide Ipinsagba’s tenure.
“As the Senator Representing Ondo North Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Procurement, he has approached his legislative duties with a firm commitment to ensuring transparency, accountability, and tangible progress. It is essential to counter misinformation and present the monumental achievements made within the last one and a half years to improve the lives of our people and foster sustainable development in Ondo North.
Some of the key Achievements included Empowering Farmers and Promoting Agricultural Advancement: Facilitated Agricultural Training Programs for youths and existing farmers, equipping them with modern techniques to enhance productivity. Distributed fertilizers to farmers to address critical agricultural challenges, ensuring increased output and improved local food security.
“Advancing Health and Well-being through Constructed and fully equipped a modern health centre in Akunnu-Akoko, ensuring access to quality healthcare for the community. Distributed health equipments and materials to the State Specialist Hospital, Ikare-Akoko, thereby strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving health outcomes.
“Skill Development and Empowerment Initiatives: Women and Youth Training in Confectioneries: Conducted training in cake baking and other confectioneries, followed by the disbursement of start-up grants to empower beneficiaries to establish their businesses. Training of women on soap making with start-up funds.
“ICT Training and Equipment Distribution: Organized ICT training programs for youths, distributed HP Core i7 laptops, and provided start-up grants to promote innovation and employment in the tech sector. Vocational Training in Tailoring: Trained youths in tailoring, provided sewing machines, and disbursed start-up grants to enhance self-reliance and job creation.”
It doesn’t end there, Senator Olajide Ipinsagba also invoved in Community Development and Infrastructure: Constructed a 1.5-kilometer road in Oka-Akoko, improving connectivity, facilitating economic activities, and easing transportation for farmers and traders. Spearheaded the construction of the Ikare Modern Civic Center, which serves as a hub for cultural, social, and civic engagements and he Facilitated the construction of 28 lock-up shops in Oka -Akoko, providing a conducive environment for entrepreneurs and boosting local commerce.
“Promoting Education and OppOpportunities; Distributed free JAMB forms to students across the senatorial district, enabling many young people to pursue higher education without financial barriers. Sponsored a bill for the establishment of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) University in Ikare-Akoko. A public hearing was successfully held on December 28, 2024, reflecting progress toward establishing this vital institution for skill development and education.
“Facilitation of Recruitment Opportunities: Facilitating and securing federal jobs for constituents in NNPC, Police, Nigerian Army, Rural Electrification Agency and also working to get appointments for the youths in the ongoing Customs and Airforce recruitment.”
Another achievements is giving of Scholarships and bursaries to over 1000 tertiary students. Lighting up towns and villages with Solar Panels including Adekunle Ajasin University amongst the others.
Also, these achievements underscore his commitment to fostering development in agriculture, education, health, and infrastructure. As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Procurement, he also prioritizes accountability and efficiency in national projects, which directly impacts the equitable allocation of resources to Ondo North Senatorial District and Ondo State at large.
However, Senator Olajide Ipinsagba is Empowering Small Businesses: Through the skill acquisition programs and provision of lock-up shops, he has laid the groundwork for entrepreneurship to flourish within the district.
He Strengthening Youth Engagement: By bridging the gap between education, technology, and employment, he is equipping youths with the tools necessary to thrive in the modern economy.
While legislative representation does not always directly translate to employment for every constituent, his office has worked tirelessly to create opportunities that indirectly foster job creation. Programs such as skill acquisition, grants, and small business support are designed to empower our people to be self-reliant.
He equally called for Unity and Constructive collaboration: “It is disheartening that opposition factions have chosen to propagate campaigns of calumny aimed at undermining these developmental strides. Distinguished Senator Jide Ipinsagba urges constituents to focus on the progress made and join hands in supporting these initiatives. Divisive narratives serve only to hinder our collective growth.”

NTDA Bids Farewell to Outgoing Director General in Grand Send-Forth Ceremony

The Management and Staff of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) honored the outgoing Director General, Chief Folorunsho Coker, in a heartfelt send-forth ceremony held at the Authority’s Village Hall.
The event celebrated Chief Coker’s remarkable leadership over the past eight years, during which the NTDA experienced significant transformations in Nigeria’s tourism sector.
A Legacy of Achievements
In their tributes, staff and management commended the DG for his visionary leadership and numerous accomplishments, including:
Enactment of the NTDA Act, which transformed the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) into the NTDA.
Ongoing ISO standardization certification to enhance service quality.
Successful launch of the Tour Nigeria brand, promoting domestic tourism.
Expansion of the Authority’s organogram, creating more employment opportunities.
Nigerian Flavours initiative, celebrating the country’s rich culinary heritage.
Capacity-building programs and staff training to improve efficiency and service delivery.
Digital transformation and global partnerships with Google, Meta, and Wikipedia, enhancing Nigeria’s online tourism visibility.
Improved staff management relations, fostering industrial peace at NTDA.
Digitalization of the registration and accreditation process for all tourism and hospitality businesses (now 90% complete).
In his farewell address, Chief Coker expressed deep gratitude to the Directors and staff, emphasizing that these achievements were a collective effort.
He urged employees to uphold his legacy, maintain professionalism, and promote unity within the organization. He discouraged tribalism, instead encouraging love, cooperation, and teamwork.
The ceremony concluded with goodwill messages, presentations, and heartfelt appreciation for Chief Coker’s dedication and service.
As he embarks on a new journey, the NTDA remains committed to building on the foundation he has laid, ensuring the continuous growth and development of Nigeria’s tourism sector.
