We must protect the sovereignty of Nigeria – Amaju pinnick NFF president

The NFF President as well as Fifa Council member Pinnick Amaju speaking today on National TV pointing out values taught the National team beyond the field of play had reacted to the viral video of a man who harassed the Falcons. He said:


“What we try to do in the federation is not just to defend the team on the field of play but we also prepare our players to defend the country off the field of play because football is not politics, football is entertainment, its recreation, its empowering, its everything.”

He further said: “What we try to do is try not to get ourselves in this type of act, it is condemnable and we will work assiduously to get this guy in question to book, because we don’t want such to happen again. The Nigerian communities in Australia and neighbouring communities are working with us and I can assure you in the nearest future, he’ll be brought to book.”

On World Cup, he revealed that the main goal now is qualifying beyond all odds for the World Cup. In his words, he said:


“Meanwhile, our main goal at the Federation now is to qualify for the World Cup, its going to be a tough call but our Players are very young, energetic and patriotic, they love this country and will give in their best and that’s what is counting for us.”

NVBF seeks continuous partnership with Abia Govt after successful 2025 Nat Div 1 & 2

The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) have expressed profound appreciation to the Government and people of Abia State for their outstanding support and collaboration during the successful hosting of the final phase of the 2025 National Division 1 and 2 Volleyball Leagues.

In a statement signed by Engineer Musa Nimrod, NVBF President, the federation commended Abia State for its warm hospitality and commitment to the development of sports, particularly volleyball.

Nimrod explained that the successful event was a result of the strong partnership between the federation and the state government.

He said, “The Board of Administration of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, on behalf of the entire volleyball community in the country, wishes to express profound gratitude to the Government and people of Abia State for their noble collaboration in organizing the final phase of Division 1 and 2.”

He further highlighted that Abia State is gradually becoming a hub for volleyball in Nigeria.

Nimrod attributed the growth of volleyball to the government’s investment in youth and sports development.

He emphasised the NVBF desire to sustain and strengthen this partnership to further promote volleyball and empower young athletes across the nation.

“The federation remains grateful and looks forward to a more robust and progressive partnership with the Abia State Government in the future.”
