The leader of the delegation, board member of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, and chairman of Ogun state Hon. Ganiyu Majekodunmi has said that the Eaglets are role models and a classical examples of a team that parades very young players in the tournament.
He disclosed this while charging the team to put behind them the loss to the Baby Elephants of Ivory Coast, as he said that the Nigeria Football Federation is spot on with the policy of fielding very young footballers to represent the country at the different age -grades of football.
“I commend the players. On behalf of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, we are here to support you. Please put behind you the loss to the Ivoirians,” Hon. Majekodunmi told the Eaglets.
If you win your next game very well, you will qualify for the semi-final. The fact you are the youngest set of players in this tournament gives me so much joy.
“And you all passed your MRI test without any doubts gives me so much fulfillment because you are the role models here in terms of how young the Nigerian team looks and this is what the NFF is focused on when we talk of youth football development,” he said.
