…as Adeboye expresses confidence in God for their release

LAGOS – Five of the ministers of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, going for this year annual convention of the church had been reportedly kidnapped by armed gangs in Ijebu-Ode, Thursday, in Ogun State.

The General Overseer of the Church, Pastor E. A. Adeboye disclosed this on Friday, during ministers’ conference at the Redemption Camp in Lagos.

He, however, expressed confidence in the God of the Redeemed that they would be released, charging the congregation to stand in the gap for them.

Adeboye decried the current insecurity in Nigeria, saying it had degenerated to the level it is because children of God were sleeping in faith, saying, “we need to wake up”.

The GO maintained that there are grounds in Nigeria and the world to capture for God, adding that if the Truth, which is Jesus Christ is not shared among the unbelievers, the false would grow.

” Situation in Nigeria has never been this bad, we need to do something, we need to wake up.

“I was about to sleep, yesterday when I got a text that they kidnapped five of my ministers around Ijebu-Ode.

“How will you be able to sleep as a father, when you heard that five of your children are kidnapped?

“Those of us who are here are enough to drive the devil out of Nigeria if you are not here to play the church.

” It is our fault. If we have moved faster in evangelism things will not be like this.

“Go round the world, today there are nations we are able to capture for God, but we are sleeping. If the Truth will not shine, the false will grow.

” If we will not go and show them a true miracle, magicians will take over. Go, tell them about Jesus, about heaven. Tell them about the power of God, about the coming rapture,” he admonished.
